University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus
This is the premier university of the Philippines. The most popular symbol of UP is the Oblation Statue, which is also the inspiration for the controversial Oblation Run. Neophytes of the fraternity Alpha Phi Omega run around the campus with nothing on but masks. Another big event happening in the university around December is the Lantern Parade. The vibrant and festive lantern competition is usually held on the same day as the Oblation Run but in the afternoon.
